Work It

January 9, 2017 by Ariana | 0 Comments

While Melissa is making the most of her work commute, I have grown to love hot yoga and am dragging myself back to barre classes this year.  For years, I gave no thought to what I wore to exercise.  But as I’ve started to be more regular in my pursuits, I have slowly started to introduce more respectable pieces into my workout wardrobe.  Luckily, there are a lot of chic choices out there.  Take a look at some of my favorites:slide1

I wasn’t an early fan of the athleisure trend, but as a longtime J. Crew customer, I was thrilled to see their classic, preppy looks translated into athletic wear.  These outfits are practical enough for a real workout and cute enough to wear for a post-exercise treat.  Throw on a hoodie or quilted jacket after you cool down.  Click here to see more of J Crew’s collaboration with New Balance.

I discovered Tory Sport while solo-strolling in Nolita last winter.  While I don’t run or play tennis (except occasionally and just for fun), I could be convinced with these outfit choices.  My favorites are the throwback tennis dresses, which would be perfect with my old Tretorns!

All bundled up and donning a helmet and goggles, I lose all vanity on the slopes.  I’ve been wearing the same ski clothes for years, which isn’t at all unusual, but since we head up to the mountains regularly enough to warrant season passes, it may be time to step up my game.  What I lack in skiing ability, perhaps I can make up with my outfit. Patagonia is my go-to for long-lasting snow gear.

Hope these outfits inspire you to work it!
