Fall is my favorite fashion season. I have always been a sweater girl. Like certain songs, I can identify what I was doing at a certain time based on sweaters, especially in high school. Some favorites include a grey nordic-inspired Esprit one with snowflakes that anyone who knew me back then would remember, I wore it so much. A floral cotton crew neck from Ann Taylor that I permanently borrowed from my mom, which I wore in my least-favorite class photo. A thick cable knit cardigan purchased on a trip to Hong Kong with my mother, aunt and cousin. A very bright patterned sweater from Benetton. Oh, the 80’s!
These days I gravitate toward more classic shapes and neutral colors that I will wear for years and years. I love a sweater coat and a splash of color, like cobalt, red, or pale pink. I also like an interesting texture, knit or accent, like leather trim or an asymmetrical zipper. Since my collection is quite extensive these days, any new additions are given careful consideration — whether it is an investment or a trendier piece. Here are some knits I would gladly add to the collection.
