A couple of weeks ago, Preston Davis of www.keepitchic.com, recommended My Paris Dream by Kate Betts. I decided to pick it up and I was not disappointed. If you have an interest in fashion, Paris, or women who follow their passion, this is a irresistable read.
Following her graduation from Princeton, Kate Betts took the road less traveled and followed her dreams to Paris. Ultimately, she ends up with a position at Women’s Wear Daily where she rises through the ranks and takes the reader on a tour of the Paris fashion world in the late 1980s and early 1990s. My Paris Dream is a well-told coming of age story. Ms. Betts’ story captures her spirit as an ambitious 20-something but, rather than looking back longingly at those years, she celebrates the older and wiser person who she becomes as she advances in her career and personal life.
I highly recommend adding My Paris Dream to your summer reading list. You will not be disappointed.
