Serena & Lily has long been one of our favorite stores, so we were thrilled to find out that they have an outlet in Berkeley.  (Berkeley is fast-becoming a destination for design lovers, but more on that in a future post.)  Since the outlet is only open through December 8th, we hurried over to check it out and report back.

Here are the details:  Open Mondays and Thursdays through Saturdays from 10-4pm at 1360 Tenth Street about five minutes from the Gilman Street exit off I-80.

Here’s the lowdown:  The space is quite large and has some good mark-downs on furniture, other case goods, and rugs.  We saw a lot of the Riviera chairs and stools, side tables (the Leila Inlay, Vera Side and Webster Nesting, in particular), poufs and mirrors.  If you’re looking for bedding, pillows or other linens, the selection is more limited and most were naturally from a prior season.  Keep in mind that the mark-downs generally meant that the items were seconds, but several tables were marked down to less than half the retail with only some scratches.  While we were there, they kept unloading new items, so it’s worth a stop if you’ve had your eye on some of their beautiful pieces.
