I started thinking about stars right around July 4th. Now, with the warm summer nights that we have had in San Francisco, I have been thinking about them again because we have actually been outdoors late enough to see stars. The star is a symbol that resonates with young and old (perhaps because of the breadth of its symbolism, e.g. patriotism, religion and, of course, superheros) and has no gender. While a little goes a long way, incorporating stars into your decor adds a little (sometimes figurative) sparkle. Here are some great examples of stylish stars.
We love these two wallpapers with star motifs. They would be adorable in a nursery, but we can also picture the second wallpaper in a not-so-serious powder room.
Is wallpaper too permanent for your liking? How about star bedding or a hanging mirror?

If you would prefer something a little less obvious, these curtains or the Moroccan star carpet provide a more subtle nod to the motif.
Some of my personal favorites are stars that actually light up the night. A star pendant or marquis light work just as well outdoors as they do indoors.
And last but not least, it never hurts to remind yourself that you are a star!
