Rectory Red, Farrow & Ball
This fall, it appears that the style gods are seeing red. From the September Architectural Digest profile of Claudia Schiffer’s guest room with an abundance of red accents (see below), to a variety of fashion pieces being shown in red, it is the color of the season.

There is no question that decorating with red is a commitment. It is certainly not for the feint of heart. But, if you would like to dip your toe in the water, there are a few ways to do it.
First, dinnerware is always a great option when you are trying to introduce a new hue. You can buy a whole set or mix your current set with a few accent pieces.

Another good choice is adding color through decorative pillows. These pillows fit the bill nicely.
Finally, decorative ceramics, such as vases, are a great way to infuse color into your decor. These vases could sit well on their own and would be even better with a few blooms.
There is no question that red decor makes a statement. Thankfully, there are some subtle ways to incorporate this bold hue into your current decor. And, as an added bonus, your home will be right on track when Christmas and Valentine’s Day roll around.
