All of the sudden, it seems like fall is upon us. Kids are heading back to school, stores are stocking coats and boots, and cooking magazines are featuring slow roasted and braised dishes.
The fall is my favorite season. I love the “back to school” shopping, new school supplies, and the food. After a summer of light and effortless eating, I am ready for dishes with more layered flavors and the aromas that fill the house as they cook all day. One thing I love about slow roasted meals is the presentation. There is nothing better than pulling a dutch oven out of the oven and bringing it directly to the table. If I plan to bring the pot to the table, however, I would like it to look as good as the food tastes. So, I am on the hunt for some table-ready roasting gear. These have to be workhorse items – I would like them to take a beating and stand the test of time. For me that means that tried and true brands are a good bet. Here are some of the best looking options I have found.
Just looking at these beautiful dutch-ovens and roasters makes me want to start cooking. Bring on the fall.
