Truth be told, I am not one for Halloween. I don’t enjoy dressing up in costumes, or the inevitable sugar rush / stomach ache that follows one too many miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter cups. But, this year, I am trying to get into the spirit. We live on one of the best Halloween streets in our neighborhood and we need to step up our Halloween decor game.

I love the doorway above. It screams Halloween without being cheese-y. The black pumpkin lanterns below (available here) might be a perfect addition.
The gourd / pumpkin / floral arrangement would be a nice vignette in small foyer, or even on a mantel.
Obviously pumpkins are the main symbol of Halloween. Rather than going the traditional route and carving them, I think we may try painting them this year. Less mess and I am pretty sure they would last longer.

I don’t know about you, but I am inspired to start planning our decor. Stay tuned – I feel a DIY in our future.
