We are in the process of remodeling a very small powder room. When I say small, I mean small. The room is 61″ x 65″ and the wall that holds the sink and toilet is the shorter one. As a result of being so tight on space, we are being especially careful with our planning. We want the room to be practical as a guest space, but we do not want to forego style. And, of course, there is always the budget to consider. So, what did we come up with?
You’ll have to excuse the poor quality of this pencil drawing but when I am trying to fit something into a small space I tend to work with a pencil (and a very large eraser). And, believe me when I tell you that planning this room involved A LOT of erasing. Once we knew what the space could accommodate, we got down to the business of choosing the details. Here is what we are planning.
We wanted the powder room to feel special and a bit like a jewel box. We chose each of the elements with the intention of adding a little bit of glamour. We think the gold in the Farrow & Ball wallpaper, the crystal pendant, the curve of the sconces, and the slightly unexpected shape of the mirror all contribute to that feeling. We cannot wait to watch it all come together.
