When I am putting together color schemes, I tend to be drawn towards cool colors – blues, grays and whites. Unfortunately, that color scheme can feel a bit sterile. In an effort to keep my cool tendencies from becoming downright cold, I try to infuse natural elements into each room.
This doesn’t mean that every room feels casual. In more formal rooms, like living and dining rooms, I include natural hide rugs, iridescent shell-based light fixtures, or rattan bar-carts. In less formal settings jute rugs and rattan pendants or dining chairs do the trick. And, of course, you cannot go wrong with natural baskets in any room.
