When I spotted these cute wood planters from the Hand Made Modern collection at Target, I knew I wanted to do something with them but didn’t know what. After finding the cute desk accessories shown above, I decided to repurpose the planter as a desktop accessory. Although the septagon-shaped planter is plenty cute on its own, I wanted to personalize it by applying chalkboard paint to the bottom. This DIY is super easy: simply place painter’s tape around the top edge, apply 2-3 coats of chalkboard paint and let dry. Use chalk to add a note or monogram. We gifted these to teachers, but they can be used for just about anything!
