Design Inspiration in Unexpected Places

Since we started this blog, I’m constantly on the lookout for new design inspiration.  It’s no surprise that San Francisco is filled with great style and design.  But recently I’ve been finding inspiration in the most unexpected places – from having lunch at the mall to taking my kids to the Exploratorium.

The last place I would expect to find good design — above the cow’s eye dissection station at the Exploratorium — hangs this eye-catching pendant installation.

It was not a surprise to find beautiful glass at the Chihuly Glass Garden in Seattle, but this textile exhibit was unexpected.
