This weekend I had the opportunity to celebrate the pending nuptials of one of my favorite friends.  A group of ten bay area women converged at the Claremont Club & Spa, a Fairmont Hotel, for 24 hours of relaxation.  In case you have not visited the hotel in a while, the Claremont has recently undergone a major renovation that included all of its spaces, including rebranding its restaurants.  Overall, the public spaces turned out beautifully.

The lobby bar was particularly beautiful, as was the ceiling detail.

I especially loved the library room.

The guest rooms were not particularly impressive, nor was the service in any of the restaurants.  The service in Antoinette Restaurant (f.k.a. Paragon) and the lobby bar was painfully slow.  Additionally, upon returning to the hotel after dinner we were disappointed to learn that the hotel bars closed at 10:30 p.m. and the staff was not particularly accommodating.  Putting those issues to one side, and planning accordingly, the Claremont is a lovely space for a quick “staycation” and I would gladly go back for a night.
