I was recently at the home of a friend who had just completed a renovation and I couldn’t help but notice her sunny yellow front door. I have always been a fan of yellow. When I was in school, I painted my bedroom yellow and in my first home I had a yellow kitchen. When I saw my friend’s yellow door, it reminded me of how much I like the color. It is just so friendly; it sets the perfect tone for welcoming guests into you home. It is also a great way to add a pop of color with your accessories.
I especially love yellow outdoors with gray, greens or blues. The yellow sunbrella pillows in the outdoor collection above would brighten anyone’s day. (Pillows available here).

Yellow works just as well inside. Here, the yellow helps prevent this gray living room from being too cold. (Similar vintage yellow throw and pillows available here and here.)

Want to make yellow more permanent? The chairs above are a great way to add a bit of color to an otherwise neutral space. You can find similar here, here, and here. Of course yellow is great in the summer, but I think it continues to work well all year long. In fact, during the long months of winter, there is nothing better than bringing a little sunshine indoors.
