My first major furniture purchase was a charcoal grey velvet sofa.  It was the late 90’s, so it embodied the oversized look of the time with rolled arms, deep seats and abundant cushions.  We departed with it awhile ago, but it remains one of the most comfortable sofas we’ve ever had.  I love the look and feel of velvet, especially in rich hues perfect for cozying up in colder weather.  These rooms perfectly illustrate what an impact even a touch of velvet can cause.
