It seems that more and more often I am drawn to interior schemes that mesh a rustic and refined look. For example, I love the look of clean lines in a contemporary kitchen but sometimes, when all is said and done, I am left feeling cold. Similarly, a refined room that is “just so” can feel stuffy, not welcoming. As a result, I find myself looking for ways to incorporate natural elements into more spaces. Perhaps a reclaimed dining room table with a crystal chandelier, like the one below, or an island or coffered ceiling with a natural element. There is something about adding a natural element that makes a room feel warm and inviting. Here are a few ideas I am inspired by right now.
