Looks We Love: Otomi Embroidery

May 5, 2017 by Ariana | 0 Comments

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, we are highlighting Otomi — embroidered textiles from Mexico. A few years ago on a trip to Cabo, I spotted these traditional hangings in a quaint shop amongst all the typical tourist trappings.  I debated over a bright yellow otomi, but ultimately passed because I didn’t know exactly what I would do with it.  I’ve regretted that decision over the years, especially when I see Otomi prints work beautifully in chic settings like these.  Next time I’m south of the border, you can bet I will be coming home with one. Until then, I’ll celebrate with guacamole, tacos, and margaritas!

You don’t need to get on a plane to get Otomi embroidery for yourself, these framed beauties from St. Frank can be purchased online or in their SF store.
