Before the holidays, we replaced our dining table that could squeeze ten, with one that can comfortably sit twelve. We enjoyed the extra arm room during Christmas dinner, but I noticed that the original chandelier hanging now about 5 feet away did not provide enough light. This was especially evident sitting at the end. I’m now on the hunt for new lighting so we can take advantage of the extra space. Because the table is 10 feet long, my choices are between a single, long chandelier or two chandeliers. Both are good options.

Or a single linear fixture?
Since our walls are plaster and two chandeliers can be costly, I’m leaning toward a long chandelier that will highlight the room, but also stand the test of time. These are certainly eye-catching:
