I am a dog-lover.  I have had dogs most of my adult life and wouldn’t change it for the world.  But, I am the first to admit that it is difficult to work dog-necessities into a curated home.  Last year’s San Francisco Elle Decor Designer Showcase inspired me to think more creatively about how to accommodate my four-legged friends.  The solution above, from the Showcase house, is nearly perfect; bed, bowls and leash all in one spot.  To be honest, I’m not so sure why you would have turf in the house because I can’t imagine anyone wants to encourage their pet to use the kitchen as a toilet.  But, overall, this is a great solution and it inspired me to start looking for other ideas.

Once I started looking, I realized that there is no shortage of ideas out there.  Here are some stand-out solutions for beds and bowls.  They work well in kitchens, laundry rooms, and under the stairs, but I can imagine incorporating the dog bed ideas into all sorts of nooks and crannies in my own home.

Looking for dog bowl solutions?  These ideas take the cake.  I love the idea of keeping the dog food and bowls in the laundry room instead of the kitchen.  But, not everyone has a deluxe laundry room and these kitchen solutions would work well too.

We love all of these ideas.  They allow you to keep the mess out of the way and still let Fido feel like he is part of the family.
