Maybe it is was all those years of “back to school” shopping, but when fall rolls around I feel compelled to update my wardrobe. While I do not need to buy an entirely new wardrobe, certain basic pieces have started to feel a bit shabby after a full year of wear and tear.
This year I am focused on just a few pieces. First and foremost, I’d like to find a few accessories that would work well for an afternoon lunch or daytime event that requires something slightly nicer than my average weekend wear. I have been looking for a new crossbody bag that would work well for weekends and work. The saddle bag below fits the bill perfectly – it is not to big and not too small and could carry all of my essentials. I also love suede for fall. The block-heeled fringe loafers below would be just right with jeans and a sweater when I am heading out to brunch with girlfriends. For a more casual look, the grey wool sneakers below and casual backpack would be perfect for outings with the kids and picnics in the park. Finally, I love juxtaposing delicate jewelry with chunky fall sweaters and scarves. The stud earrings and layering necklaces below would be work with either look.
I know this is a little bit of wishful thinking; it won’t feel like fall in San Francisco until late October. But I think I have to pick up a few new items before fall actually arrives. Why should the kids have all of the fun?
