During our last trip to the Alameda Flea Market, I was looking for a pair of small nightstands for my daughter’s room. I got lucky; I found the nightstands pictured above and got the set for $50. They needed a bit of work – they had water rings, one nightstand wobbled a bit, and the hardware wasn’t quite girly enough. In addition, they were just too dark for the other furniture in her room.
Thankfully, these issues were nothing that a coat of paint, new hardware and a bit of TLC couldn’t cure. A trip to the hardware store, a bit of white paint, and new pulls (here) and, viola, a completely girly look.
I couldn’t be happier with the way the nightstands turned out. They look great with her bed (similar here) and are just the right size for a glass of water and a book.
