With Thanksgiving falling a little later than usual this year, I have been extra eager to get ready for Christmas. This year is special for us, because it’ll be our first time hosting Christmas dinner. So I decided to gather some of the inspiring ideas I’ve been pinning, and choose two projects to get the creative juices going.
First, I picked up some inexpensive glass ornaments at the local craft shop and decorated with supplies on hand. I filled a few ornaments with glitter by first making a funnel out of card stock, which made pouring easier and a lot less messy. Super simple and pretty. I love the way the glitter moves and coats the glass. I added some sequin trim to one of the ornaments, but actually prefer the simplicity of the others.
I didn’t have any plans for these glittery branches when I purchased them, but love the way they look inside the glass bulbs. Metallic washi tape dressed up the remaining ornaments. This project was so fun and easy, I’m going to head back to pick up more ornaments to decorate!
The final result:
For my second project, I wanted to make a tassel garland, which has been popular this year. These easy instructions made creating the tassel garland a cinch! A couple packages of tissue paper, scissors, twine and voila!
