Happy Shopping

November 26, 2014 by Ariana | 0 Comments

Have you heard of Gray Thursday?  Someone coined this term to describe pre-Black Friday Sales, or as one writer put it, what “once upon a time, we used to call . . . Thanksgiving.”  Once upon a time, I was one of those early risers hitting the stores on Black Friday and going on eight-to-nine hour shopping marathons with my best friend. These days I’m no longer up for elbowing through the crowds, but I do still appreciate a good deal. Thankfully, we can still take advantage of the deals without leaving the comforts of home!

So I plan to fire up the laptop and multitask my holiday shopping with some classic movie-watching.  Want to find the best deals?  Check out the lists for where to get your shop on here and here.

Or, if you prefer to get out and walk off all that turkey but avoid the malls, there are some great events happening this weekend.  Check out holiday shopping opportunities around SF where you can find unique gifts for your loved ones

1.  If you’re an Etsy fan like we are, here’s your chance to peruse handmade goods from local etsy shops in person.  Visit the SFEtsy Holiday Emporium on November 29-30 at Pier 35.

2.  Tina Frey’s modern resin designs are a fun way to add color to your (or another’s) home.  Find some deals at her holiday studio sale.

3.  Racked put together this fantastic list of local holiday sales here.

4.  Don’t forget to visit your neighborhood favorites on Small Business Saturday.  Hayes Street is one of my favorite shopping destinations in the city.  Check out Fiddlesticks, Lavish, Lotus Bleu, and Alternative, to name a few, to support your local businesses.

Happy Shopping!
