Fourth Of July BBQ

July 1, 2016 by Melissa | 0 Comments

In my mind, July 4th is all about the BBQ.  Hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks, chicken . . . you name it, we grill it.  While the meat is always delicious, I think the side dishes and desserts are what really make a BBQ something special.  I like to focus on the classics – salad, corn, potatoes, grilled veggies.  Some of the recipes are obvious (eh, grilled veggies), but some require a little more preparation.  Here are some of my favorites (click on the photo for the recipe).

Since I am not huge fan of chocolate desserts, summer is the perfect season for me.  I love taking advantage of all of the delicious seasonal fruit this time of year.  Here are a couple of dessert recipes that I am thinking about trying this year.  Both would go perfectly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
