I had grand plans.  I was inspired to create the beautiful table-scape of painted pumpkins pictured below.

“How hard could it be?” I pondered.  Surely painting pumpkins is not rocket science.  I had my supplies ready.  According to other blogs, all you need is a little craft paint and pumpkins and you are good to go.  Things seemed to be going well.

I taped up the stems.

I even enlisted a couple of helpers.  (Only one was photo-ready.)

This may be where things started to go wrong.  I was picturing something like the pumpkin below.

But, my helpers had other ideas.

So, at the end of the day, our painted pumpkins look nothing like the inspirational photo.  I have to admit, I still love them.  Despite not looking like the inspirational photo, I am going to count this one as a success.  They are the perfect decor for our Thanksgiving day table.
