I was recently at the Merchandise Mart looking for some inspiration.  If found it in a very unexpected color combination.  The Scalamandre showroom was highlighting a purple and orange look that I slowly but surely became obsessed with.  Initially, I did not give it very much thought (which explains the un-staged quality of the snapshot above).  But, as the day went on I couldn’t get it out of my mind. If you follow this blog, you know I LOVE orange.  I pair it with navy blue, turquoise, and even hot pink.  For some reason, however, it had never occurred to me to pair it with purple.

As you can see in the close up, the primary color of the print pillows is purple.  The orange is minimal, but just enough to allow you to pull the accent out.  When I got home, I immediately began looking for pillows that would allow me to recreate the look without breaking the bank.
