Chinese New Year of the Rooster

January 26, 2017 by Ariana | 0 Comments

The Year of the Rooster begins this Saturday.  The Rooster “represents fidelity and punctuality, for it wakes people up on time. People born in the year of the Rooster are beautiful, kind-hearted, hard-working, courageous, independent, humorous and honest. They like to keep home neat and organized. On the other side, they might be arrogant, self-aggrandizing, persuasive to others and wild as well as admire things or persons blindly.”  (Source)

For my family, the celebration centers around the meal.  So naturally, my mind went to decorating the dining table to ring in the new year.  These settings are festive without being cheesy.  Of course, my favorite is the blue and white themed setting in the first photo.  And since I already own the exact same plates, as well as a lot of indigo pieces (purchased here), it’s an easy call.  Happy New Year!
