In my mind, the foyer is one of the most important places in a home. After all, it is the place you welcome visitors and where guests get their first impression. If yours is like ours, however, it’s also the place where everyone drops their bags, coats, keys … you name it, often only a few steps from the front door. Ours could definitely use a refresh so I’ve been giving some thought to what kind of initial impression we want to make. My ideal foyer would be inviting, indicative of my design style, and meet the practical requirements of offering a place to sit and hold daily items. This inspiring foyer below fits the bill perfectly. The graphic Madeline Weinrib rub provides a stylish and modern anchor for the more traditional Asian console, vase and barrel. The space is bright with its crisp, cool colors (which I gravitate towards) while still imparting a warm welcome, and fresh flowers always helps. Now is a good time to get moving on this project — right before the holidays — so we can welcome our guests with style!
