Based on Liane Moriarty’s book of the same name, “Big Little Lies” should be your new binge-worthy TV.  Having read the book years ago, I remember a few things about the novel but not enough to prevent me from enjoying every minute of the two episodes released by HBO so far.  The drama centers on the social interactions and dysfunction of first-grade, helicopter parents in Monterey, California.  It begins with an investigation surrounding the murder of an as-yet-unidentified victim that takes place during a school fundraiser.  Reese Witherspoon, who is superb in this, headlines the series along with Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley.  Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, Alexander Skarsgard and Adam Scott round out the stellar cast.

Whether or not you’ve read the book, be sure to add “Big Little Lies” to your DVR or watch it live on HBO this Sunday.
